About Bryce
BRYCE WILLIAM RILEY
A life that continues to make a difference.
Bryce was diagnosed with dermatomyositis at six years old. Despite immense physical challenges, he gave his time to others and advocated for pediatric care at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
He volunteered with the MIX 106.5 Radiothon and WMAR Telethon, traveled through Maryland sharing his story, and completed more than 1,600 service-learning hours by high school graduation.
In 1999, Bryce died at age 20 following an accident while playing wheelchair football at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. The BWR Foundation was established in his honor and carries his spirit of giving into the community.
“He believed deeply
in giving back and
worked tirelessly in
the hope that a cure
would one day be found
for future generations.”
